About Us
Ramiz (Director of PECL) has 30+ years experience in designing, reviewing and rehabilitating pavements across the globe. PECL provides short training courses on pavement investigation, design and construction testing, expert technical advice on microsurfacing and technical statements and assessment in court hearings for pavement related failures.
Experience
Ramiz has 30+ years of experience in pavement investigations, analysis and design of pavements (flexible and rigid), along with monitoring of roading construction and maintenance strategies, project management and project director role and training.
Ramiz was Stantec/MWH’s national pavement and surfacing specialist for 8 years (2009-2017), and the pavement services manager for Beca between 1999-2007. He has designed and peer-reviewed over 500 roads – in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, and Qatar. Ramiz provided technical directorship to roading projects from geotechnical investigation stage through to detail design, peer reviews and construction management. These roles cover new motorways (expressways), road widening projects, rehabilitation works, infrastructure development, industrial pavements, car parks and subdivisions.
Ramiz is a strong advocate of road recycling design, promoting the reuse of existing materials, and minimising waste achieving cost effective & environmentally friendly solutions. Ramiz introduced structural asphalt to New Zealand in 1999 and 100% recycled road in Auckland, NZ in 2010 using modification and testing techniques. He major in the design of concrete pavement for industrial and commercial developments.
